The natural life around me has a way of tickling my
eyes
and senses. Flowers, wildlife, color, and light all have
the elements I need to create beautiful things.
I love to draw, paint and photograph what I think is
beautiful and can be turned into the kind of art that
expresses my interpretation at that moment in time. I
am excited about my work at this time in my life.
I hope you will be too!
Through my art, what I hope to do is create and share
pieces that
excite and make you, the viewer, happy and let you appreciate the
elements of nature with the art I present.
I was born into a military family that traveled a lot.
I loved it even though
I had to say goodbye to friends and make new friends every few years.
To pass much of my time, I liked to draw flowers even
as early as
about five or six years old when we lived in Long Island. I spent many
hours on the dining room table just drawing to my heart’s content.
I
don't remember playing a lot of dolls or even watching T.V., just drawing
and occasionally, lying out in my backyard on a nice spring or summer
day
looking at the clouds rolling by trying to see what I could see
in them and then rising above them to see what
was past them.
College bombed out with an art instructor that preached
quantity NOT
quality, so I left my major and ended up with a BFA in English Lit and
a
minor credits in music. Music is another love of mine, hence marrying
a musician. Things happen for a reason and I guess I just wasn't meant
to get that degree in art. For some it really matters and pays off,
but for
me? I feel there's a higher force in control of the helm and I just
go with
the flow. So here I am now and I have no regrets, other than to wish
I
had told that instructor how wrong he was about his philosophy.
I am married almost 21 years now to my beloved best
friend and
husband Scott and enjoy raising our lovely three children, David
Kyle, 19, Sarah Joyce almost 14, and Ian Joseph almost 13. We
are an artist/musical family. It gets pretty crazy here sometimes.
Scott is a very gifted musician in which I hope everyone
gets to
hear his music someday. He's working on projects that I hope will
be featured here on this web-site eventually!
I teach art out of my home, I am in my eighth year now,
go to the
links to see my school. I try to produce as much art as I have time
for.
I have started painting murals and take commssions,
which also has been an exciting adventure. My
days are full but it's a good kind of fulfillment!
Please stop by when you can to watch my world grow!
